GIGAPIXEL
HUMAN-ROBOT INTERACTION | FALL 2022
Instructor: Peter Testa | Partner: Anna Chakhal-Salakhova, Sijia Li, Mackenzie Champlin, Matthew Scholtz, and Qingyang Zong
This seminar looks at AUTOMATION across media from architecture and imaging to robotics. Research identifies and playfully engages the basic building blocks of contemporary architecture and design (AI, BIM, BLOCKCHAIN, CLOUD, DAM, DIGITAL TWIN). Discourses and projects explore how this conceptual lexicon may be rearranged to support a contingent, post-extraction material culture, and circular economy. It focuses on AUTOMAVISION, hands-on visualization experiments bridging digital and analog mediums in SCI-Arc’s Robot House.
This project uses gigapixels to capture the scene with reflective objects and does experiments with post-production, such as superimposition, photo collage, etc.
